Tis the season
I, like most people, have to work through the holidays and my income depends on the generosity of the people who sit at the table I am waiting on. My job had it's advantages and disadvantages. If I worked at my job five days a week for five hours a day, I would more than likely bring home between 600-700 dollars, on the average a week. So for me this job has many benefits. Not only do I get to stay at home with my children and not have to send them to child care, but I work less than 40 hours a week, and make more than most average paying jobs pay. Saying that, I do my job not only for the money but because I absolutely love my job. I love what I do, getting to meet new people every night, learn their stories, and I have also met many people who potentially can help me get further in life. I dont choose to work here because I an "uneducated", or not capable of getting a "real" job, I choose to work there because I love it. I choose to work here so I can raise my kids and not someone else. Bottom line is, I am so so sick of ignorant people, who have never served in their life, telling me how easy my job is. I multitask, all night long, while pleasing 6-9 tables all at one time, without the help of anyone. I CHOOSE to have TWO jobs, raising two children, and then being a waitress, and lets face it, if I wasnt their to serve you your food...who would do it for you? Your Mommy?

LOVE IT!!!!
I wish you would serve me food!
People shouldn't go out to eat unless they plan on tipping. Why would anyone want to serve ungrateful slobs if there wasn't something to look forward to at the end. People suck!
PS: Please serve my poor son some food!
I dont have to feed your "poor son" food cause you do it for me. It is just like Bryan bitching about never cleaning...but I never have to cause he just does it for me. AHHH the life.
Sarah..I absolutely understand what you are saying. For all those people who think serving is easy obviously they have never served before! You have to deal with all different kinds of people and personalities all night long while keeping an upbeat attitude even when people are absolute jerks! Servers do not get the credit they deserve...I'm not saying all servers are great; their are a lot of em that should not be serving; but serving is a very hard and demanding job..screw those people who say different.
